Our Family in Colorado was started by the two brothers Per Victor and Erick Magnus Lindfors.

Before they settled in Strasburg, Arapahoe County, Colorado they had been to several other places in America. For example Per Victors family had been in Worcester, MA. And Erick Magnus family had been both to Worcester, MA and  in Cleveland, Ohio.

The center of the state is approximately 1,500 miles west of the Eastern coast of the United States, 800 miles east of the Western coast, 650 miles south of the northern border with Canada and 475 miles north of the southern border with Mexico. Colorado is bounded on the east by the states of Kansas and Nabraska , on the north by Nebraska and Wyoming, on the west by Utah and on the south by New Mexico and Oklahoma.The boundary lines create an almost perfect rectangle, measuring approxiamtely 387 miles from east to west and 276 miles from north to south and covering 104,247 square miles, including 450 square miles of bodies of water. Colorado is the eighth largest state when measured in square miles area

The first territorial assembly created the first seventeen counties in September 1861. They were Arapahoe, Boulder, Clear Creek, Costilla, Douglas, El Paso, Fremont, Gilpin, Guadalupe (later named Conejos), Huerfano, Jefferson, Lake, Larimer, Park, Pueblo, Summit and Weld

Size: The 8th largest state, 104,100 total square miles

Statehood: 38th state. Admitted August 1, 1876

Average elevation of 6,800 feet (2,073 m)
