"My name is Deborah Marlene Holm-Svetin-Hines.
I'm the daughter of Helen Christianson-Holm and granddaughter of Beda Florence
Lindfors-Christianson.
I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1952. I am the 3rd child born to Helen &
Parnell Holm after Susan Marie and Micheal Edward. And after me was born Stephen Paul,
then Rebecca Lynn and finally Daniel Peter.
I'm told I was a sickly child born with anemia, which meant I was also quiet, at least
when I was a baby, and slept alot. I've always been a "Mama" type person which
probably stemmed from caring for my 3 younger siblings. Susan was almost 4 years older
than I and during the time she might have babysat me, our mom was a stay-at-home mom so
she was rarely left with that duty. (She may tend to disagree with me on this point but I
don't remember her sitting for me ... and I'm writing the story so it's up to my memory.)
Mike was 18 months older than I so we pretty much played together. Steve was only 2 years
younger than I, but was a boy, and during that era girls seemed to wait on the boys in the
family more than it's done now. Becky was born 7 years after me and became my personal
baby doll, and Dan was born 9 years after and he was my precious baby brother.
I'm sure each of my siblings have different memories about Gramma and Grampa Christianson.
Dan was only about 3 when Grampa died and Bec was about 5, so their recollections of him
would be faint. But they have precious many memories of Gramma.
At present, I'm living in Tulsa with my husband, Steve. My extended family calls Steve
"Uncle Fred" in order to differentiate between him and my brother, Steve.
I've lived in Tulsa since September 1, 1982. I moved here from Minnesota with my first
husband, Bill, and my daughter, Shareen, who was 12 years old and my son, Luke, who was 6
months old. I have another daughter, Bekka, who was born in 1984 here in Tulsa. Bill and I
divorced in 1987.
Shareen graduated from high school and moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1990, to attend
Anchorage University. She now has her degree in English/Creative Writing.
In 1993 I met Steve Hines at church and we married in 1994. Steve adopted Luke and Bekka
shortly after we wed.
After Luke graduated from High School in 2001, he attended Tulsa Welding School and then
moved to Anchorage, Alaska to be near Shareen. (And there's great fishing in Alaska!)
I home-schooled Bekka her last 2 years of high school and when she graduated in 2002, she
and I drove the Alaskan Highway, which took 6 1/2 days. It was the adventure of a
lifetime! She remained in Anchorage with Shareen & Luke.
In February of 2003 Bekka eloped with Jordan Morse and they make their home in Eagle
River, Alaska. Bekka is a manager for a department store in Anchorage and Jordan works at
a remote control toy store and will start Anchorage University this fall.
In May of 2003 Shareen married Dr. Rich Crosby, DDS, and they make theirhome in Anchorage.
Rich is busy building his practice and Shareen has worked at the Blockbuster managerial
offices for 13 years. She also writes free-lance for several companies in the Anchorage
area.
In 1997 I started working with my mother & father-in-law at their graphic arts
company. We create the ads and type-set for small town phone books.
Steve, or rather, "Uncle Fred", is the National Chain Accounts
Director/Trainer for a company here in Tulsa. In other words, he's a traveling salesman.
He sells non-food products to large convenience store chains and trains the other
salesmen. He travels nationally, 4-5 days a week.
"Uncle Fred" and I are involved in our church and sing frequently.
/ Deb"
