We have a few photos of people that we are pretty sure they are family members. I am hoping someone will recognize them. I have put up all the facts and theories we have. You are welcome to help me identify the photos and if you have a theory of your own I would love to hear about it!
Thank you! Victoria |

Submittion date: 2004-12-22 This photo belongs to Vernon and Irene Lindfors. This is Girl is unknown for us! We don't know what year it was taken, but the photographer C.A. Askling in Söderhamn was first established in 1865. Söderhamn is located in Hälsingland Sweden. We have several family members that came from here. I have put this picture up at a Swedish Genealogy site and asked other researchers to estimate the year when it was taken. One said to me that it is probably taken around the years 1865 to 1875 due to the type of cardboard printing used. The girl is probably between 15 to 20 years old in the photo. She is wearing a crinoline dress that was popular during the 1860's and forward. Placed on the table is a book, maybe a bible. I got a suggestion from a researcher that it might be a Confirmation card.
UPDATE!
Dec 28th. 2004 Vernon and Irene has this old letter and in that letter some people are mentioned. Among the people mentioned is a young woman named Miss Victoria Lindfors. I have her in my genealogy computer program. She was born in 1846 to Carl Magnus Lindfors brother Johan Victor Lindfors. If the estimated time for when this photograph was taken is correct, this Miss Victoria Lindfors would be in a correct age, around 19 to 20y.o. Maybe this photo was sent with the letter in 1866 to Carl Magnus Lindfors in Hanebo from Ockelbo. Well, this is just a theory. I can't prove this at all. Can you help me find out some more?

This Photo belongs to Vernon and Irene Lindfors. The information on the back of this photo is: WM Parfitt, Artistic Photographer, Meriden, Iowa. I don't know anything about this Photographer. I hope to have more Information to share soon, as I have put up a query on a Swedish Genealogy site. UPDATE! May 21st, 2005 Well, I am not any closer to an answer. No one on the genealogy page has been able to tell me anything about the photographer. Someone pointed out that it looks like this photo might be taken outside because there is grass on the ground. This might suggest that this photo was taken by a traveling Photographer. I have also gotten some suggestions that the photo might have been taken around 1880-1890. Then someone told me that "The town of Meriden was first named Hazard in 1870, the name was changed to Meriden in 1882." I also got some suggestions about age, most of those who commented it thought the couple was around 55-60 years old at the time the photo was taken. I have now posted one more query about this
photo on Rootsweb. Hopefully someone will be able to tell us more.
